Aquarium 263x108The US government has created five Marine Monuments to protect the abundant sea life of US-territorial waters.  They are now seeking a contractor to design and fabricate interpretive exhibits on the subject of the Marine Monuments to be displayed at Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, Connecticut.

Interpretive Exhibits

The Marine Monuments were created to protect the abundant and diverse coral, fish, and seabird populations; to facilitate exploration and scientific research and to promote public education regarding the value of these national treasures. In total, the five Marine Monuments (Northeast Canyons and Seamounts, Marianas Trench, Pacific Remote Islands, Rose Atoll and Papahanaumokuakea) encompass over 334,000 square miles of protected ocean.

The project will cover the development, fabrication, and installation of an interpretive exhibit to be installed at Mystic Aquarium, Mystic, CT. This exhibit will provide an overview of the Marine Monument System, part of the National Wildlife Refuge System and will include a two wall display which will include photographs, graphics, video and text features to interpret the message. The exhibit developed by this project will increase visitor understanding, awareness, and appreciation of Marine National Monuments nationwide.

The contract will include the development, fabrication and installation of interpretive graphics, which include a television media component to accompany the overall design. This interpretive exhibit will be located on the second level mezzanine of Mystic Aquarium, 55 Coogan Blvd., Mystic, Connecticut.
