Aberdeenshire Council is seeking bids from contractors for the provision of Construction Work for the Extension and Upgrade of Macduff Aquarium. The project involves constructing single and two-storey extensions to the existing Macduff Marine Aquarium. This includes creating additional café space, an improved reception area, retail spaces, staff facilities, plant and workshop areas, and expanded display areas. The work also involves decoration, heating upgrades, and minimal alterations to marine life support systems. The building's front façade will be modified to accommodate a larger footprint, with roof extensions, steel frame supports, and new ventilation installations. The first-floor café will feature large glazing panels, and photovoltaic panels will be installed on two roof areas. Parking and landscaping improvements are also included.
