Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings (formerly known as Ditherington Flax Mill) is a Grade I-listed former flax mill and maltings located on the outskirts of Shrewsbury. Built in 1797 it was the first “fireproof” construction iron frame building in the world and the precursor of the modern skyscraper. Historic England were seeking a contractor for the provision of an interpretation scheme. The successful contractor is Mather & Co Limited, and the total contract value is £79,975.
