Senior Visitor Experience Designer / Senior Exhibitions Imagineer

Studio MB, a specialist design agency based in Edinburgh, are looking for a talented, flexible and creative Visitor Experience Designer to join our evolving creative team. As a specialist design agency creating world class museums and exhibitions, visitor experiences and retail spaces across the globe, we’ve identified a gap for a real creative head. Someone who lives and breathes ideas, thrives on challenge, thinks beyond the obvious and can fully communicate those ideas to our clients, contractors and design team.

We’re thinking laterally with this role. Whether your experience comes from retail, interior or exhibition design, we’re looking for someone who can fill the gap, even if they’re crossing over from another discipline. You’ll work closely with the Directors and Design Principal to craft engaging designs that really wow our existing clients and helps us win new work.

You will be fully mac literate, have outstanding conceptual skills, an exceptional eye for detail with passion for ensuring the highest standards. You will have solid experience in designing spaces and places for a range of applications and understand the end users needs and how to keep them engaged no-matter what media you communicate in.

  • Working with a broad range of other team members - graphic designers, 3D designers, film-makers, lighting and AV designers as well as build contractors and architects.

  • An outstanding breadth of work and an exceptional portfolio.
  • Capable of taking a brief from initial concept to final output.
  • An expert in problem solving, interaction and best practices.
  • Someone who is hands-on and can ensure creative is delivered within timing and on budget.
  • Clean, tidy and well-structured working processes.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships.
  • Can work easily within a creative team or as an individual.
  • Ability to take creative direction and feedback.
  • Working under pressure and demonstrating strong time management skills.
  • Excellent software skills working on a Mac. Vectorworks, Sketchup and Creative Suite are our studio standard packages.

Considerations:

To be considered for this role you will need to provide a CV and a PDF or portfolio of your best work. Previous experience within the museums sector is not essential.
