The 54-mile-long Selma To Montgomery National Historic Trail begins at the Brown Chapel African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Church in Selma and follows the 1965 historic routes of the Selma to Montgomery voting rights marches through the city and eastward along US Highway 80. The National Park Service had been seeking proposals from contractors to develop a new Interpretive Visitor Center for the Selma to Montgomery National Historic Trail. The successful contractor is Outside Box LLC of Richmond, Virginia, and the total contract value is $20,707,000.
