German borderlandsThe Border checkpoint Helmstedt–Marienborn was the largest and most important border crossing on the Inner German border during the division of Germany and today is home to a memorial and small exhibition centre. The State of Saxony-Anhalt, who run the site, have been seeking a contractor for exhibition design services. This tender is divided into 2 lots. Lot (1) is for the design of a permanent exhibition at the memorial site focusing on the border in the context of the Cold War. Lot (2) is for the design of smaller exhibition areas in the function units of the former border, such as passport control and customs barracks with a modern guide system to link the exhibition modules. The successful contractor for both lots is KOCMOC.NET GmbH, and the total contract value is 900,000€ (approx. £779,657) divided as follows: (1) 400,000€ and (2) 500,000€.
