Old paintingsThe National Portrait Gallery is one of the country’s premier visitor attractions with over 2 million visits in 2011-12.  They are now seeking an experienced fund raising manager to oversee their programme of major donors and appeals.  The post pays £45,000 per  year.

Reporting to the Deputy Director & Director of Communications and Development, the Head of Major Donors & Appeals is responsible for securing significant (£50k and above) donations from individuals; stewardship of major donors and the individual fundraising aspects of major appeals including capital campaigns and acquisitions. Through strong leadership, effective line management of the individual giving team and excellent relationships with existing and prospective major donors, the post holder will make a significant contribution to the Gallery’s ambitious individual giving income targets.

Personal responsibility to lead and deliver on major donor income (gifts of £50k+), with a personal target of £100,000 in year one, rising to £200,000+ in subsequent years plus additional appeal and Capital Campaign targets.

The salary for this post will be circa £45,000 per annum.
