The largest clash in the Revolutionary War in the US state of Maryland took place against the British in July, 1776 on St. George Island. To date little professional study has been dedicated to this important battle. Preservation Maryland has been seeking a contractor to research, identify and map the cultural and natural resources associated with the battle, and develop a report on the future potential preservation and interpretation efforts, while coordinating with local stakeholders. The successful contractor is Kennon Williams Landscape Studio of Charlottesville, Virginia.
