The Library of Congress is the nation’s oldest federal cultural institution and serves as the research arm of Congress. It is also the largest library in the world, with over 158 million books, recordings, photographs, maps, films and video, sheet music, sound recordings, and manuscripts in its collections. The Library was seeking contractors to undertake design services to create a new learning space in Southwest Corridor of the Thomas Jefferson Building in a newly renovated space on the ground floor. The successful contractor is Skolnick Architecture + Design Partnership of New York City and the estimated contract value is $1,999,684.
