The Grenzhus in Schlagsdorf is a museum near Lubeck where you can experience what life was like in the former borderland between East and West Germany. Outside the museum there is a fence border and watchtowers and inside there is a 300m2 exhibition space. They commissioned a design contest for the re-imagining of their exhibition space with a permanent exhibit on "Narrowing and Exclusion". The exhibition space must be multi-lingual, utilise multimedia approaches and centre on the uniqueness of these former borderlands. The contest was awarded to Impuls-Design GmbH & Co.KG. The estimated contract value is 357,000 EUR (Approx. £314,000).
