SUMMARY
The Mennello Museum of American Art in Orlando, Florida, is embarking on a $20 million expansion project. The plan will mix spacious, naturally-lit indoor exhibition rooms with terraces, covered outdoor spaces, open concourses and pathways connecting them with the green and lakeside surroundings of Lake Formosa. The museum has enlisted architects Brooks + Scarpa & KMF Architects as the design team for the 40,000 square-foot museum expansion. The new structure will be integrated with the existing 12,000 square-foot museum building. Once complete, visitors will be able to enjoy indoor and outdoor multipurpose spaces, designed for events such as weddings, educational visits and conferences. The expansion will also feature a sculpture garden for visitors to explore. While fundraising is ongoing, the completion date for the project has yet to be announced. Â
