museum-visitors-blurr-273-x108The National Trust's Southeast Region is looking for an experienced and ambitious manager with experience of retail and operations to drive their new strategy focusing on the visitor, which will launch next year. The post will be located at the regional office at Polesden Lacey, and will pay approximately £55,000 per year.

The National Trust is focusing considerable energy and resources to an ambitious strategy for 2010 which puts the visitor experience at the heart of everything they do.  They want to make sure every person who comes into contact with the National Trust in the South East has an unforgettable experience. They want the visitors who already know about the Trust to visit again and they want to reach new audiences who’ll find a whole new world of possibility. And crucially, they need to ensure that our commercial operations deliver both customer satisfaction and the necessary income to reinvest.

They are now looking for a Visitor Experience & Commercial Development Manager whill will bring strong commercial flair to boost the Trust's existing income and to find innovative ways to tap into potential revenue streams. A passionate champion of exceptional visitor experiences for the 12 million visitors we already welcome in the South East, the successful candidate will inspire property teams to reach out to new people and exciting new markets.

The Manager will lead and manage a regional Marketing and Supporter Development team of nine, as well as providing clear leadership in the area to the people who manage the places where our commercial operations and visitor experiences happen.

Not only will the Manager know what makes a great visitor experience, but they’ll know how to maximise income from every visit too. The successful candidate should have experience in the retail, catering, holiday or leisure sector, during which time they have developed commercial strategy which, in turn, delivered business growth.
