The British Museum is looking for a new Head of Membership who will be responsible for planning and delivering transformational growth in the membership of the British Museum Friends membership scheme and the income that the scheme generates, as well as engaging members more actively with the life of the Museum.
The Head of Membership will report to the Head of the Commercial Department, but will also work closely with the British Museum Friends Council.
The successful candidate should have experience of managing membership schemes in the cultural sector, although comparable experience of loyalty schemes, customer relationship management or direct marketing programmes in other sectors would also be considered valuable.
The candidate should be capable of leading a team (currently seven people) through a period of sustained and substantial growth and will need to be able to work effectively and sensitively with a wide range of stakeholders.
