ANNE FLETCHER
Fletcher Teckman Consulting Ltd.

Anne is the former Head of Interpretation and Education for Historic Royal Palaces where she was responsible for all interpretative strategy and implementation at some of the most visited sites in Britain.  One significant achievement was the introduction of costumed guides to Hampton Court Palace and the Tower of London, the first permanent daily live interpretation programmes in the country.

In recent years Anne has run her own strategic consultancy which advises heritage sites on all matters relating to interpretation.  Her expertise is grounded in her degree in History from Oxford University and her years learning communication skills in a city PR agency.  In addition to strategic advice Anne is experienced in writing all forms of interpretive materials and in on-site implementation.   Her clients include the Archbishop of Canterbury (Lambeth Palace), the Houses of Parliament, Kensington Palace, the London Eye, St Paul’s Cathedral, St Martin-in-the-Fields, the Roman Baths (Bath), Rochester Cathedral and Althorp House.

Jon Teckman joined the Civil Service Fast Stream as an Administration Trainee straight from university in 1984.  Having worked on the re-nationalisation of London Underground (from GLC ownership) and the privatisation of British Airways, Jon trained as a cost and management accountant, completing the CIMA exams in 1989.   He later joined the Historic Royal Palaces Agency as Group Finance Manager before returning to more conventional civil service roles working on the introduction of the National Lottery and advising Ministers on Films Policy.

In 1998, Jon joined the British Film Institute as Deputy Director with particular responsibility for managing the central service operations, including finance, human resources and ICT.  He also took lead responsibility for the successful delivery of the new BFI IMAX Cinema at Waterloo – a £15 million Arts Council Lottery funded project delivered within time and budget.   After eighteen months in this role, Jon was promoted to Chief Executive Officer – responsible to the Board of Governors for all aspects of the BFI’s £30 million annual budget and leading the organisation’s 500 staff.

Jon left the BFI at the end of 2002 and undertook several independent consulting projects for clients including the BBC, the National Film and Television School, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and the UK Film Council before joining Ashridge Business School in 2004.   At Ashridge, Jon was client director for the Ministry of Defence contract and also for the Clore Leadership Programme and is currently leading the development of a senior leadership programme for the creative industries.  He has had articles published in various journals including Management Decision and The Journal of Strategy and Planning.

At the end of 2008, Jon left full-time employment at Ashridge to pursue a career as a freelance trainer, author and father.   He is now a Director of the Heritage and Management consultancy Fletcher Teckman Consulting, author of an as yet unpublished novel and father to Joseph and Matthew.
