museum-visitors-banner-sizeThe Royal Academy of Arts in London is seeking an experienced fundraiser who will become one of the senior members of the Development Department, focusing on Project Giving.  The post pays £50,000 per year.

The Development Department plays a vital role in generating around 50% of the Academy's annual operating revenue. As one of the senior managers in the department the successful candidate will be contributing to strategic plans and ensuring their implementation and delivery to generate revenue in support of the Academy's loan exhibitions, Academy's Art School and the education programme.

The candidate will need broad management experience of staff and resources, a proven track record of fundraising and creating new business partnerships. This will include management of a senior volunteer Corporate Advisory Board. You must have an excellent understanding of current financial conditions in order to secure major sponsorship agreements, form syndicates of supporters, run a large corporate membership scheme and raising funds from trusts and foundations.

Additionally you will need excellent negotiation skills, be creative, diplomatic and charming. Your practice must be based on an excellent understanding of relevant charity and tax law and you must be familiar and comfortable working to challenging fundraising targets.
