The museums of National Museums Wales welcome over 1.7 million visitors per year, and they have set up a company, National Museums & Galleries of Wales Enterprises Ltd to undertake all their trading activities. They are now seeking a Chief Executive for the business, and the post will pay in the range of £41,737 to £51,670.
The company has been trading successfully for several years with significant sales and profit growth. All profits are returned to Amgueddfa Cymru to support its work. We are now looking for a Chief Executive to build on our successes and to take the company forward to the next stage of development.
As Chief Executive you will be a member of and report to the company’s Board of Directors and will lead on all aspects of the trading operation, including business planning, performance and budgetary control. You will provide clear business leadership and direction to trading activities across our seven museums to ensure strong performance and profitability. You will be the client representative for our franchise catering operations and provide advice on other property-related activity for commercial units that are leased to third parties.
You will have excellent leadership skills, proven senior management experience within a commercial environment, be a strategic thinker with vision and creativity and have the ability to manage the business while improving turnover and profitability and raising the quality of services provided to our customers.
