Dr. Rosalind Joy Savill, CBE, has been appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in the New Year's Honours List. Dr Savill has been Director of the Wallace Collection in central London since 1992, and has worked there since 1974. She is internationally recognised as a major authority on the French decorative arts.
Former director of BBC audio and music Jenny Abramsky has been made a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire, for Services to Broadcasting. During her forty year career at the BBC she edited Radio 4's Today programme and oversee the launch of radio 5 live, the BBC News website and News Channel. She became chairwoman of the Heritage Lottery Fund and the National Heritage Memorial Fund earlier in 2008.

Dr. Ian McKenzie Smith, OBE, has been awarded for Services to the Arts in Scotland.
Rosemary Kelly, Chairman, Arts Council of Northern Ireland becomes OBE for Services to the Arts.
Kenelm Robert, Head of Customer Relations, Royal Festival Hall, becomes OBE for Services to the Arts.
Jennifer Sealey, Artistic Director, Graeae Theatre, becomes OBE for Services to Disability Arts.
Erwin Bottomley, formerly Deputy Mine Manager, National Coal Mining Museum, becomes OBE for Services to Heritage.
Patricia Ann Astley-Cooper, Curator of Wandsworth Museum, becomes OBE for Services to Heritage.
Peter Cormack, formerly curator, William Morris Gallery, becomes OBE for services to Heritage.
Raymond John Smith, formerly Senior Carpenter, St. Fagans National History Museum in Cardiff, becomes OBE for Services to Welsh Heritage.
Peter James Rankin, Legal Advisor, Belfast Buildings Preservation Trust, becomes OBE for voluntary service to Heritage in Northern Ireland.
