Shuttleworth Collection vintage aircraftOld Warden Park is an early 19th century park listed Grade II* in Bedfordshire, and is home to the Shuttleworth Collection of vintage aircraft.  They are now seeking expressions of interest from contractors to improve the interpretation of the estate and the Shuttleworth Collection.  It is expected that a shortlist of 3-5 firms will be asked to tender for this opportunity later this month.

Old Warden Park – Interpretation commission

The Richard Ormonde Shuttleworth Remembrance Trust wishes to upgrade key areas of its estate in Bedfordshire.

Old Warden Park is an early 19th century park listed Grade II* on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens. It includes traditional parkland and the 1870’s House (also listed II*) and on its eastern boundary is a series of hangars housing The Shuttleworth Collection – an internationally important collection of vintage aircraft.

The Trust wishes to restore The House and parkland, and to upgrade the interpretation of the whole site, particularly that of The Collection, to enhance visitors’ enjoyment. HLF and other funding will be sought to support this process.

The Interpretation consultancy is one of five main commissions, and the Trust therefore invites PQQs from suitably qualified and experienced companies and individuals.

PQQs are available at www.shuttleworth.org/careers and should be returned by Thursday 18th August.

The Trust intends to shortlist between three and five companies; tender documents will be sent out on 19th August, for return by 9th September.
