netley_hospital_chapel-1 Hampshire County Council‘s Countryside Service is looking for an experienced, dynamic and creative individual to manage the day to day running of the newly refurbished magnificent grade two star listed Chapel located within Royal Victoria Country Park which is due to open in May 2017. This Heritage Lottery funded post will actively promote and deliver the exciting Heritage Project “Uncovering the stories of Netley Military Hospital” through its new interpretation, planned activities and events.

You will have the ability to inspire a wide variety of people to get involved and develop a life long association with Royal Victoria Country Park and more particularly the Chapel.

With excellent communication skills and the ability to influence others you will be able to nurture existing relationships and build new partnerships that will assist in achieving our ambition for the Chapel.

In this role you will explore new ways of engaging with those who already visit and enjoy the Park as well as developing new audiences to increase the number and variety of people that benefit from this fantastic resource.

With considerable experience of financial planning and budgetary management you will also bring a commercial drive to the post that will enable us to grow and diversify our income.

You will be responsible for the day to day operation of the Chapel, organising resources to ensure that the services are provided effectively and with the highest standards of customer care.

Whilst you will have a keen interest in the heritage of the Chapel and understand it’s significance and importance, it is just as important that you have outstanding management and leadership skills. A creative, commercial thinker, you will inspire everyone around you – colleagues, volunteers, communities, stakeholders – to make our vision for this stunning building sited within a beautiful park, a reality.

Our Organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults. We expect all employees, workers and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment.
