The Historic Royal Palaces is looking to appoint a senior member of their team to develop and implement all creative programming.  The post's responsibilities include events and live interpretation as well as static interpretation in temporary and permanent displays at the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, Kensington and Kew Palaces and the Banqueting House.  The post pays up to £60,000 per year.

Historic Royal Palaces is an independent Charity that looks after the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, the Banqueting House Whitehall, Kensington Palace and Kew Palace, attracting more than 3 million visitors a year, is seeking to appoint a Head of Creative Programming.

This is a role that embraces static and live interpretation and live events programming across its five palaces and beyond these walls.  A senior appointment, reporting to the Director of Conservation and Learning, the role carries responsibility for innovative, high quality programming that draws on all genres of the visual and performing arts, in addition to the interpretation work for exhibitions and displays. With the challenge of enhancing HRP’s ability to attract and retain new audiences, you will bring  fresh ideas to the presentation and relevance of the historic past.

In this exciting and fast-moving role, HRP is looking for candidates with the vision, creative leadership, collaborative approach and effective delivery to take HRP and its current and potential visitors on a journey of discovery which brings new insights into the stories bound up in the Palaces’ history.   You may come from an interpretation or events background but you may equally have experience in the theatre, in TV Programming or in the area of festivals or film production.  What will be important is your ability to adapt your professional and creative skills into the historic and Royal context in which HRP operates.
